The Lifemapper team has created an interactive web application that offers a glimpse at Lifemapper's approach to Species Distribution Modeling. Three interfaces function individually to present:
Climate Layers - view the bioclimatic maps available for creating species distribution models.
Species Archive - downloaded from the GBIF archive and updated regularly, occurrence points are plotted on a Google map. Click on a point to view metadata. Low resolution projections are also available for species with more than 50 occurrence points.
New Experiments - Choose a species from the Lifemapper/GBIF archive or upload your own data set, then select an Environmental Set and algorithm. These will be submitted for processing. Once the new experiment is complete the projections are available to browse in the Google Map interface.
